Its perfect location in the middle of a mountain range that encircles the town center with 100 kilometers of slopes makes Obertauern Austria’s skiing capital. The legendary Tauern Tour takes you to the challenging “Super Seven” tour (marked S7), which reaches the seven highest points of the ski area with spectacular descents.
Ski buses or cars are not needed in Obertauern. Here, “ski in, ski out” applies at every point in the village. 26 modern cable cars and lifts ensure that you can get around quickly even on busy days! With 1 gondola lift, 18 chair lifts, 1 chair/cabin combination lift and 6 T-bar lifts.
Those who prefer to stay on flat terrain can enjoy 31 km of groomed cross-country trails, while the more adventurous can try their hand at snowkiting in the large snowkiting area.
